Our Story

We are a Century
Old Theatre!

History states that in 1893 a rancher name Camille David travelled across the Canadian prairies with a herd of cattle and a vision for a better life. In 1910, he determined to build a theatre (David Theatre) across from the store he owned and the first documented show debuted on February 23, 1911.In 1919, David sold the theatre to Stan Bailey who added the 40 foot lobby and the 120 seat balcony.

The renovations to the newly named Bailey Theatre were completed in June 1922.

The Bailey Theatre is a treasure, a gorgeous venue that my band Slow Leaves has been fortunate enough to play in.
Camrose has something special here and I hope to return before too long.
